“See Me”

They don’t see me I’m afraid it’s true,

They don’t see me nor when I’m blue,

I carry a lot and my limits are high,

So, when I’ve had enough no one asks why.

I’m full of joy and love to smile,

But this doesn’t mean my thoughts don’t run wild,

I’ve been loyal to many minus a few,

And if I’ve spit out your food it was too hard to chew.

They will tell you I was cruel, vile, and mean,

But they will never tell you all I endured in between,

I have many flaws; this, without a doubt, is true,

But my love and loyalty make up for those times 2.

I have a gift that I love and hate,

But I know I must give into it to have a great fate,

Often, there are silent screams in my mind that are so loud and clear,

These are the kinds of screams only me and God can hear.

Lord, no matter how much I’m hurt, keep my heart full of joy and grace,

Help shield me from all the toxins and hate,

They don’t see me this is still very true,

But the most important one that does see me is you.
